Nuxe Nirvanesque First Wrinkles Enriched Cream review

During the past winter I have experienced a very strange occurrence on my skin, which I have never had before. I started to have little red bumps on my chin area. Now, this seemed very strange to me, because usually I have very clear skin. The bumps did not seem to be pimples or other impurities. So I searched online for the answer. I never found it, so I went through my skin routine and concluded that it could be that my skin was dehydrated. I do use acids in my night-time regime and they can make your skin dry and combined with dry air (because of central heating), it can lead to lack of moisture in your skin.

I decided to try a rich moisturizer, so I went to a brand which I have loved since my twenties. A few years back I used the Nirvanesque line by Nuxe and I liked it. so I went and bought the Nuxe Nirvanesque First Wrinkles Enriched Cream for dry to very dry skin.

I have always wondered about Embryolisse skincare. While a was browsing through the internet a few years back, Embryolisse came up over and over again. NUXE DELICIOUS CREAM FOR FACE High Protection SPF 30 review

After a few grim days the sun is finally out again, so for me this means thinking about protecting my face from sun damage, specially because I regularly use acids.

Every year, around March when the sun is getting stronger, I go on my laptop and start searching for a new spf cream for my face. I do use protection all year-long, but in the colder months I am not fussy and I rely on my foundation or just my moisturizer of the moment for protection. So around spring time I do go out and buy proper protection. For the last five years I have been loyal to french pharmacy brands, because in my opinion, with them you get the best possible protection for not an absurd amount of money. The prices vary between 15-25 euros. I do have to say that I am incredible lucky that in my country we do have an impressive amount of the french brands available. And the prices are just 2 or 3 euros higher than in France. So they are definitely very affordable.

When I look for a new spf cream, there are a few things that I am nit-picky about. It has to be non-comedogenic (this means it wont give me spots) and lightweight. It has to have a chemical filter, because mineral filters (like zinc oxide) always leaves a white cast on your face and you can look like a ghost, it must work under foundation and it don’t want any irritations around my eye area or better said I don’t want my eyes to tear up. And the most important thing is that it has to protect from UVB and UVA rays, because UVA ray are the ones that damage your skin permanently. UVB just gives you a sun burn, they don’t penetrate the skin. I find that french brands deliver all this things except the tearing of the eyes, but this is a problem you can not solve by carefully applying the cream around that area.

I usually buy within AVENE, LA ROCHE POSAY, BIODERMA, URIAGE, SVR. This year I decided to try something new. I went for a brand that I have a deep affection for it, but I never go there for spf. It is NUXE. I bought the Delicious cream for face spf 30.

IALUSET creme review or an introduction to Hyaluronic Acid

I have been using Hyaluronic acids(HA) on and off for many years and our relationship has been difficult. You can find HA in many different products, like creams, serums, lotions. I have tried and tested many. My main problem with almost all of them was the application of foundation over it. The foundation was always peeling or rather balling up on top of the HA product. I could never get it right. The other problem I had, was the drying out of the skin….yes you read it right…HA actually made my skin drier.

I was surprised myself, because I  was always reading about HA`s  “magical” ability to hold 1000 times its weight in water and how amazingly hydrating it is. Well not for me. I did some research and found many women who had the same experience. I found an article that suggested applying HA onto damp skin and then sealing it with a good emollient moisturizer on top. It also suggested that not everyone can use HA, sometimes it depends on the type of skin you have. For some people it just not working and the HA is actually pulling moisture out of the skin instead from the air into the skin.

PHARMACERIS SEBO-ALMOND PEEL 5% review or an introduction to AHA`s

For the longest time…well I think almost 10 years, I have been using acids  as a part of my night-time routine. My first experience was with the brand Avene and their Cleanance K and Diacneal creams, which have both since been discontinued. Since starting with acids almost 10 years ago, I have never looked back and I use them religiously almost every evening because for me,they really make a difference and I think they are the ingredients that really help to improve skin, no matter if your concern is acne or you want to fight the process of aging.

The Pharmaceris Sebo Almond  Peel 5% cream comes in a air tight container  with a pump in  50 ml capacity. The main ingredient is Mandelic acid which is an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) derived from bitter almonds. Like every AHA ingredient, it helps the skin to regenerate quicker so that new skin cells underneath can reveal themselves. This property of  acids is specially helpful with acne prone skin. Another ability of acids is the smoothing of fine lines…BUT…lets not be fooled…nothing can erase wrinkles. We all age and it is a natural process. All we can do is look after our skin and take some preventive measures, like wear sunblock, cleanse and use a few good ingredients. Acids can also lighten areas of the skin that have darkened due to sun exposure or other kind of skin damage. Some studys have shown that Mandelic acid performs as good as Glycolic acid or even better if you have sensitive skin that reacts with redness or peeling if you use AHA′s. It causes significantly less redness, flaking and skin irritation, which is a common problem with other alpha hydroxy acids. This is something I can also confirm. I usually don’t have problems with irritations, when using acids, because my skin is not sensitive and also more on the oilier side and used to acids, although as time has progresed it has become more mixed and sometimes a little dehydrated. But enough about my skin…lets have a look at the product.

First blog post

So…Hello…

This is my first post on my first ever blog. I have debated a long time with myself if I should start a blog about skin care and make up, because there is a vast sea of beauty blogs on the web and there is no need to add another fish to the pond.

I am in my thirties now and I have always been fascinated by everything related to skin care and make up. When I was about 11 years old I used to browse through my parents chest of drawers and look for creams and lotions to put on my face. I was never satisfied with what I found, because my mother was never  into skin care and make up…so I don’t really know where this passion of mine comes from. In my teen years I saved my pocket-money and then went to the local drugstore, browsed the aisles and bought the most precious cream I could afford. In my twenties I became more aware of the anatomy of our biggest organ, not only because I was studying to become a nurse, but also because  I was faced, for the first time in my life,  with mild acne…which I never had before. So I expanded my knowledge about good targeted skin care, mostly as it is nowadays, through researching  the internet.

Now almost 15 years later her I am. Still searching for the next must have cream, serum or lotion. My philosophy in skin care has always been in finding a good regime that works and doesn’t cost a fortune. In recent years I have become fond of polish brands and have found some wonderful products which I will definitely review in the future. I have to say that there are not many blogs on polish brands on the internet and they are few and far between so that was, I think, the biggest reason for me to start a blog.

So if you like skin care and make up, please come and visit this site. It will be mostly about skin care but not exclusively. I will also be reviewing some make up and hair products and maybe even books…whatever floats my boat.
